According to the industry standard GB/T14406, the gantry crane is mainly composed of the following components: Cylindrical wheels, Buffer, block brake, wire rope, lifting hook, the driver's office, reducer, cast pulley, casting reel, Motor, electronic control equipment. And today we will mainly talk about the overview of shipbuilding gantry crane and container gantry crane.
Shipbuilding gantry cranes are used to assemble hulls on the slipway. There are two lifting trolleys: one with two main hooks running on the upper flange of the bridge; the other with a main hook and a sub hook under the bridge Flange runs on the track so that large hull sections can be flipped and hoisted. The lifting weight is generally 100 to 1,500 tons; the span is 185 meters; the lifting speed is 2 to 15 meters/minute, and the inching speed is 0.1 to 0.5 meters/minute.
Container gantry cranes are used for container terminals. Trailer truck removes the unloaded container from the ship on the quayside container carrier bridge. After being transported to the yard or at the rear, container gantry cranes are stacked or transported directly for loading, which can speed up the turnover of container-loaded bridges or other cranes. The stacking yard for stacking containers with 3 to 4 floors in height and 6 rows in width is generally used for tires, but also for rail yards.
Container gantry cranes have greater spans and heights on both sides of the gantry compared to the container straddle carrier. To meet the transportation needs of the port terminal, this crane has a higher working level. The lifting speed is 8 to 10 m/min; the span is determined by the number of rows of containers that need to be crossed; the maximum is about 60 meters. The corresponding lifting capacity of 20-foot, 30-foot, and 40-foot long containers is about 20 tons, 25 tons and 30 tons respectively.
